    Just make sure you install the latest nvidia web driver, reboot, disable SIP, install the HDMIAudio-1.1 kext, & reboot. It's a small thing, but I sure love my HDMI audio. As an aside, I had previously installed a newer WiFi/Bluetooth card, so I didn't experience any networking issues upgrading to Sierra.

    I have tried to play sound on the HDMI devices directly using aplay but there was no sound output on any HDMI device. I assume the problem is related to the drivers provided with the Linux kernel 4.11. I can confirm, that using Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.15.0-47-generic the HDMI audio output works flawlessly on the RX 580.

    I have a Radeon RX560 graphics card hooked up through an HDMI cable to a LG 32-Inch IPS Monitor with speakers. No sound is coming from the speakers. I have gone to system settings - sound - Play sound effects through: but only options are, internal speakers, line out, digital out and my bluetooth speaker. Output shows the same options.
