Audio works with crashes when hotplugged/unplugged. With a price point of only $249 and performance that is close to the 8800 gtx, the nvidia geforce 8800 gt is going to be one of the big sellers this year. The spec says "HDMI with 5.1 surround sound audio". While the first part of the description mentions HD Audio later it says "AC3 passthrough". I think the reviewer is a bit confused There is no mention of HDMI 1.3 so it can't have HD audio support (as bitstream) and it doesn't say multi-channel PCM.

As DVI doesn't carry audio and I don't have a receiver yet, I connected the analog audio to the TV's HDMI analog audio input. However I never managed to get sound out of the TV speakers. I confirmed that there was indeed audio coming from the analog output of my HTPC.
