The audio comes out of the optical port. It seems to happen when we are on non-HD channels mainly. If the box is left on overnight, on a non-HD channel, we will sometimes wake up to find that the video does not work. Shutdown/turn on does not fix the issue, only a hard reset by unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in fixes it.

Sound drops out and picture breaks up for a few seconds on some HD Channels. KCBS (channel 2) and KCAL (channel 9) seem to be the worst and this happens every few minutes to the point it's impossible to watch these channels. Doesn't happen as frequently or at all on other HD channels. The non-HD versions of these channels work just fine.
