Op · 5y. it seems like i found a way to make them work with the ac97 cable plugged into the motherboard, i just went to the Realtek HD audio manager and i checked "disable front panel jack detection", i dunno the logic behind it, but it works, i've read that the hd audio cable is capable of delivering 192k/32 bit audio or smth like that.

There could be a high chance that your front panel audio, in itself, actually doesn't work. But make sure you have all of the settings in the playback devices right and if that doesn't work try the AC97 header. A quick google search led me to find your motherboard manual. You should have the front panel plugged in here.
