You can't have both the HDMI audio and the regular PC's audio - you can only have one default playback device. When you want to use the regular PC sound card you have to select that, when you want to use HDMI you select that. I have a GTS450 video card. Oddly enough, I'm only allowed to do that when the wife is at work.
