Of the three brands I know the Golden Tube is the best value, although sound wise I'd rank the Cary at the top. The Audio Note Zero was a very neutral line stage preamp, but overpriced for what it did. After having used it long enough to break it in, I'm pleased with the Golden Tube.

Golden tube is out of business and one of the main reasons was reliability. The sep-1 was notorious for hum and noise problems, inconsistent build quality and channel mismatch. I would be suspicious if I couldnt audition the unit personally. Hope this helps!

Yes, Golden Tube's parent company went out of business some time ago, but these amps can still be repaired or modified easily by reputable online vendors. For a high powered all tube amplifier, the SE-100 is, in my humble opinion, an excellent buy on the used market if you can find one.
