Amir's measurements of LYD 5 confirmed that the specs were mostly correct, so I trust Dynaudio on this. G Four specs are ±2.5 dB (48 Hz - 20 kHz). I also trust Genelec, and according to specs, G Four are a bit better, but not that much. I would say, they are probably not significantly better.

Genelec 1032A's vs. Dynaudio BM15A's? - Avid Pro Audio ...

IMHO...... go with the DynAudio BM15s. I have owned both each for about a year. First the genelec then the BM15A. The Dyns really had a silky top end and a good punchy low end. Mixes translated well. But, If you have the budget, Check Out the M & K 2310P. THX cert. Kick Butt Monitors. I love them. Just my 2 cents. jai www.themixstudio.com

The Genelecs were giving a bit more booming sound in the low frequencies. Off course the choice it is allways depending on what type of music you record and personal taste. Also other things like room and outboard will influence the sound. Greetz, Paul Share Reply Quote 22nd April 2008 | Show parent # 6 tamasdragon Lives for gear 🎧 15 years

Genelec vs Dynaudio Core 7. Genelecs were bassier. Core had better distinction and clarity in Can song. Genelecs handled the bass and punches in the fight scene – Core distorted on these so I would need to change settings. Both nice on solo voice – Genelecs sounded more like Phil. Genelecs crisper fx and foley on the fight scene. Winner ...

Somewhat like Genelec, Dynaudio is developing monitors that can move around with ease and gain the trust of the engineers that rely on them. Out of the box, this one is the tallest, the biggest and the heaviest of the bunch, with the most heat sinks, the most buttons and input options, and the most power.

Jun 6, 2021 #2 I've used the 1031s in the past and liked them albeit as a nearfield monitor. This is the 1031A from Genelec's datasheet which has thus far matched other measurements quite closely. As such you can see it's pretty flat and probably has a slightly less down-sloping PIR than more modern Genelecs.
