I haven't contacted HP as such no. I did see a thread posted a while back where they had the exact same problem as me on the same laptop but no solution was found. The speakers are not on the LCD screen but the webcam is, so it shouldn't be that. Also, when the audio works after booting the laptop, it works for about 30 mins and then dies.

A Lot of people seem to have had Sound Device problems back in March 2011. But it has now gone quiet, Someone find an answer ! or all given up !! I have just encountered the problem on a HP G6000. No Sound device located in Device Manager. Its just not there. I have drivers but no device to load them to. Do I need a BIOS upgrage ?

Hello. I have trouble with my sound.
