    The quality of the audio on freeview TV is just appaling and I would say it actually sounds better out of the TV speakers because I can completely EQ to treble out! It is ridiculous how we pay a TV licence for this crap... The quality of the audio is just really really bad and it seems the better your setup the worse it sounds!

    The audio is mp2 (mpeg1 layer 2) on all free digital SD channels including terrestrial and satellite. Sky have premium SD movie channels with ac3 5.1 audio. Freeview-HD is he-aac 2.0 or 5.1 with satellite using ac3 (Dolby Digital)
