FROM DSP TO FPGA: A Digital Audio Signal Processing …

    https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/from-dsp-fpga-digital-audio-signal-processing-jeff-hawley
FPGA programming is very ‘low level’ code. DSP programming is based on a set of instructions available for a certain DSP family which is already designed for audio signal processing, so you’ve got...

DSP Functions on FPGAs - MATLAB & Simulink

    https://in.mathworks.com/company/newsletters/articles/dsp-functions-on-fpgas.html
The brief example below is intended to clarify the FPGA-based DSP design cycle. Within the framework of a demonstration project, a three-band audio equalizer has been implemented on an FPGA. The audio signal is supplied via codec to an FPGA where it …

Using FPGA's for audio processing - jaeblog jaeblog

DSP slices are expensive, the FPGA on the Arty A7 boards has just 90 of them. Each DSP slice is quite powerful, containing an adder, 25*18 bit multiplier and more. The full documentation of these DSP slices is well over 50 pages and can be found here.

FPGA Audio and DSP : DSP

FPGA Audio and DSP. Hi everyone! Just wanted to make you aware of RTL Audio Lab, a blog dedicated to FPGA design with focus on audio and DSP. I'm guessing that not all the content will be relevant for this audience, but some of you might find it useful (and feedback is always appreciated!). Right now we are in the middle of a series discussing ...

Home made DSP / FPGA digital audio mixer | diyAudio

Get soundcard audio test setup that allows freq sweep, add filter to FPGA, then examine response using freq sweeper of ADC + filter + DAC. If you want to go with the eas(ier) way, go with ADAU1442. I prefer the FPGA. Also look at ISBN 978-0240825151 "Designing Audio Effect Plug-Ins in C++: With Digital Audio Signal Processing Theory". Yes all of the FPGAs also have DSP slices and yes you can replicate any of this in generic LUTs. Other reasons: 1. Sometimes easier to develop for DSP depending on vendor software packages (specific to DSP operations) 2. A lowly Spartan 6 SLX9 is already overkill for most audio DSP operations, no need to go up to Virtex etc.

Using FPGA’s for audio processing « Adafruit Industries ...

Using FPGA’s for audio processing jaeblog , the Just another electronics blog writes: FPGA’s are cool, Digital Signal Processing is cool and audio is a nice way to show it. To get a bit better at working with FPGA’s and see if I remembered anything from DSP classes I started working on a project to combine those two.
