I don't know about the forte' 55. I have owned the model 40 pre w/ phono and pair of model 7 monoblocks for 25yrs. Killer system w/ my Thiel 3.5s and now w/ a pair of ProAc in a 2nd system. Sat in their boxes for 20 of those years. The class A amps were the best! Could never bring myself to sell them. I still have some info on Model 4, 5 and 6 amps

Forte Model 4 Amplifier review, test, price

The Model 4 is a gem of an amplifier, but its quality depends on your willingness to accept an amplifier limited to 50 watts per channel, albeit with a continuous maximum current capability of 16 amperes and a peak current capability of 50 amps. The other technical specifications of the Forte Model 4, incidentally, are relatively conventional.

Nelson Pass: Simple Sounds Better Page 3. Pass: The delay is more associated with internal testing and documentation than supply lead time in and of itself.
