    I'm OK with the file size of FLAC, and I don't intend to re-rip/re-transfer my entire music collection, so speed really isn't a factor. I've been using foobar2000 to rip CDs as FLAC, and it seems to work well. My audio editing program (for vinyl transfers) allows me to automatically save as FLAC, so the vinyl rips should be nice and easy.

    I'm pretty new to using foobar, and I've only ripped one CD, but the rip was in real time. I understand that ripping too fast can degrade audio quality, but is there anyway to make it so that I'm not sitting for 40 minutes to an hour just to rip one album?
