How to fix audio sync drift - FCP.co Forum

    https://fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/28518-how-to-fix-audio-sync-drift
" this audio begins to drift relative to the audio on camera." This is caused by the audio recorder and video recorder being set to two different sample rates for the audio. Set them both to the same sample rate when you record, and you won't have drift issues. But it is good to know there's a tool to save the day when that happens!

Audio drift in Same Clip from Digital 8 C… - Apple Community

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252480247
I'm trying Final Cut Pro 10.5.1. After importing a clip from a Digital 8 camcorder and adding it to the timeline, I notice that the audio is drifting from the video in the same clip. By the end of the clip, they are far out of sync. I let FCP set the project properties when I imported the clip, which are NTSC, SD, 29.97i, and stereo.

Audio Drift Dilemma — Makes no sense, but VERY serious ...

The audio will be sampled @ 29.97 fps instead of the 25 you’d expect, causing an apparent drift. I would think that since it works when you have married 30.0 fps video to your audio that FCP simply brings in the file at whatever fps the movie is (it won’t conform the fps of imported movies to your project) and of course the audio will follow suit.
