When I use ffdshow with the default codecs for AC3 or DTS the audio channels get mapped to the analog audio ports just fine. Only problem is I can get better quality if I use the digital optical out. When I change the codec for both to SPDIF the little tray icon for audio doesn't show up when I try to play a file and Media Player Classic crashes.

I Developed a mediaplayer which makes heavy use of ffdshow audio/video decoder and haali media splitter. Currently i want to support to control the audio output: (Decoded or Passthrough AC3/DTS) I found out that the current ffdshow release now supports AC3/DTS passthrough, but i can´t get it working :-(

So now when I have "AC3 S/PDIF Encode Mode" checked in the output section of the ffdshow audio settings, it will cause any player to crash. If I uncheck "AC3 S/PDIF Encode Mode" it will play fine, but then of course I only get 2 channel audio. I completely reformatted and rebuilt my machine from scratch.
