    Nathaniel Hawthorne is an amazing author, he never fails to deliver. Not even with his short stories. I did enjoy this short story. I think the best scenes are between Ethan Brand and Bartham. The atmosphere in those scenes was great. Personally, I found the introduction of the other characters later to feel slightly off.
