The Juli@ sounds as good as any CD or DVD player I've heard at $1,000 and under and better than some above that price. But it's not surprising since the most expensive parts of any audio component are the box (aluminum panels, displays, knobs) and the power supply. A sound card needs none of that (though it does need power regulation).

Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2014 I have been using the ESI Juli@ cards for 8 years for audio measurements and playback with great success. The performance is on a par with even the RME HDSP9632. It lacks some features of the RME card but its measured and sonic performance is very similar.

You'll regularly find updates on the ESI Audio homepage. Latency is about 4-5 ms with Cubase, I can't even hear it. Watch out for the sound of this card: It is definitely its main advantage, it's simply awesome. You've got plenty of dynamics, a clear sound with superb low-end reproduction, no noise and lots of warmth. It's a pleasure to my ears.
