The Energy speakers are more forward and in the end, I could hear that the Polks were better, but I still wanted the forwardness (some even say it is a metallic sound) of the Energy's. Some people have commented that the Energy's can get tiring in long listening sessions, but I can't sit that long listening to the speakers anyhow.

I have also heard the energy speakers and they sound good, but I am uncertain as to how they will sound with the Onkyo. Specifically I am looking at the following: Front: Polk RTi 28 or RTi4 vs. Energy Take 2.2 Center: Polk CSi30 vs Energy Take 1.2 Sub: Polk PSW303 vs Energy S8.2 Rear: In-ceiling (yet to be determined but probably Polk or Niles)

I'm really not a Polk Audio fan, though I do use a 12" Polk subwoofer in my home theatre, which is a decent product for movies. I find their subs o.k. for HT but don't particularly like the sound of their speakers, though they have their fans. All of these are sub-audiophile brands but provide decent bang for your buck when you get them on sale.

Polk RTi A5 vs Energy CF-50? ... The RTi series is not a warm speaker, but compared to the Energy I've heard they are warmer. Its a shame what seems to eventually happen to speaker companies who are bought out by Klipsch. If you're in a Best Buy, take a listen to the TSi. ... Energy RC-10 as front with RC-Mini as surround and center. Polk RTIa3 as front with CSia4 as center and FXIa4 as surround. For the sub i am looking at energy 8.3 or 10.3. The polk speakers are about 30-40% cheaper and i would need to wait for rebate to buy the Energy speakers with my budget.
