The 1801s have a level of detail I am not accustom to hearing from my Definitive Tech BP10s or BP30s. The entire range of sound from mid-bass on up to the highs have articulation/clarity to die for. Quite frankly, they blow away my speakers in these regards. Even towards the lower end, these speakers are quite good I think.

The 1801s midrange and highs were more natural and more detailed. The differences between the two crossovers only became apparent at this point. The man has 5 AV1+'s matched to an Adire Tempest subwoofer (should be killer for HT and he is very happy with the music as well). So, I will be able to compare the affects of the Sonicap upgrade. The bass on the 1801s is fast and accurate, they just do not get down to 20Hz. Once I hooked the 1801b's up and listened to them I knew the Acoustats were history. These are really great speakers for the money. They image, do not add anyting significant to the music, and you can pretty well rattle the windows with them.
