    I have a reference level set of -12 in Edius and the peak meters to show under -6 Yellow -3 orange, over -0.3 red. I often use a cd track to mix in on audio 1 as background track, what I have been doing is reducing the volume of the background track to -6 to -7.4 using the beta bugs conpressor to limit the sound. http://www.betabugsaudio.com/plugs.php
