Echo AudioFire? | MacRumors Forums

Echo Audio has a reputation for writing some fine drivers and their Mac support seems first rate. This is difficult to evaluate, but it seems Echo has incorporated decent mic pres and does a respectable A/D conversion in the Audiofire range o' products. Apogee has a great reputation and the Duet obviously integrates well with Garageband and Logic.

Location: Denver Colorado. Re: Echo Audiofire 12 with Windows 10. Sun Jan 10, 2016 2:01 am. I went from windows 7 to Win8.1 and then Win10 AND i only get 8 of the 12 channels to work. So I am relieved to find out that you have no problems with Audiofire 12. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and I suspect you are using a prebuilt desktop.

Echo AudioFire 4 / Kernel & Hardware / Arch Linux Forums

Re: Echo AudioFire 4 Right, I've made some progress with this. FFADO doesn't yet fully support the Linux kernel's new FireWire implementation properly (the info on their website regarding this is rather ambiguous but the short answer is that it just doesn't work) so I built a custom kernel with the old FireWire implementation.

Echo have an excellent, and well deserved, reputation when it comes to audio and MIDI interfaces, a number of which (such as the Mia) have sold by the bucket-load and become instant classics. Martin Walker gave the Audiofire 12, Echo's first Firewire-based interface, a very positive review back in the October 2005 issue of SOS. Of course, not ...

Echo Audiofire 12 - Sound on Sound

The Audiofire 12 has an attractive milled-aluminium front panel with embossed Echo logo; unlike the Audiofire 8 and Layla 3G, the rack ears are integral rather than optional. Each of the 12 inputs and outputs has an identical LED meter with four segments at -36, -24, -12 and -6 dB, which provides just enough information to let you know there's ...

He eventually decided on the ECHO because the stereo image was a little more focused. And its worth noting the the AudioFire 12 is the same technolofy as Audiofire 8 which is the same as Layla3G. This is the first head to head of Layla and the 1820M I have come across. If the Echo is a little better - i'm thinking of finally ditching the EMU

Apogee Duet vs. Echo Audiofire8.... any advice ...

I’ve been reading these forums for quite a while, but now it’s time to get in on the action and ask some questions. My main decision at the moment, which I’d like some advice on, is between an Apogee Duet and an Echo Audiofire 8. Primarily I need an Interface for project type stuff working with Ableton Live.
