The AudioFire2 is one of the cutest FireWire audio interface's we've seen. Just a little bigger than an iPod, its compact design and attractive styling make it one of the most aesthetically pleasing bits of hardware ever to land on our test bench. Hands on Despite its small size, the AudioFire2 offers all the basic connectivity you might require.

The Echo Audio Fire 2 is a very tiny device that can be used almost anywhere in any situation. This type of interface is always good to have around, they are very cheap and sound good in most situations with low latency and sync with any computer and work with any program and daw.

Just finished up a review of Echo's Audiofire 2 which I have been using for a little while under Windows 7 x64 and SONAR 8.5.3 x64. It is a great audio interface that I am using with my main DAW tower computer as well as being able to take it out on the road with a laptop using the firewire interface. Here is the link to the full review.

Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2011 I love this interface. It's tough, reliable and has a very clean sound. Compact and perfect for travel and even endures the most rugged caress via the TSA. When you've only got soo much space in a club or dark cave somewhere, this is the perfect interface. Plug n play with OSX.

Echo Audiofire 12 - Sound on Sound

    https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/echo-audiofire-12
The Audiofire 8 is very similar in concept to Echo's Layla 3G (reviewed in SOS January 2005), with two universal mic/guitar/line inputs on its front panel and a further six round the back, along with eight analogue outputs, word clock in and out, MIDI In and Out, S/PDIF in and out, a pair of channel inserts and a dedicated headphone output. The ...

Echo AudioFire2 FireWire Interface - zZounds

AudioFire2 offers an extremely small FireWire audio solution. No product this small comes packed with as many features as the AudioFire2. Fully balanced input and output, separately addressable headphone output, S/PDIF I/O and MIDI I/O are all included in this 3.5 in. by 4.25 in. interface.

Echo Audiofire 4 - Sound On Sound

If you can manage without the mic preamps and with a two-in/two-out analogue format, Echo's Audiofire 2 provides an even more compact solution. This unit is not dissimilar in general features to the classic PCI-based Mia MIDI and, at £169, provides a very cost-effective solution in a box with a footprint about the same size as a CD case.

Despite having some limitations, AudioFire's a professional little device that sounds great. Pros Professional connections. Excellent mic preamps. Universal inputs accept any signal type. Stable and responsive. Cons No physical master volume control. Requires an independent AC inlet. No surround mixing option. Image 1 of 2

He eventually decided on the ECHO because the stereo image was a little more focused. And its worth noting the the AudioFire 12 is the same technolofy as Audiofire 8 which is the same as Layla3G. This is the first head to head of Layla and the 1820M I have come across. If the Echo is a little better - i'm thinking of finally ditching the EMU
