Audiogon Discussion Forum

    https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/dynaudio-special-40-or-old-dynaudio-focus-160
     · The esotar tweeter is much better than the esotec tweeter. Only the floorstander of the Focus line uses the esotar IIRC. That said the special 40 is kind of a weird animal, it uses prototype Esotar3 drivers, even more advanced than what's available with the Confidence C1 or Contour C20, but has a noisy, poorly braced enclosure, whereas I would expect the Focus 160 …

Question - Amp for Dynaudio Focus 160 | What Hi-Fi? Forum

    https://forums.whathifi.com/threads/amp-for-dynaudio-focus-160.115867/
     · My current setup consists of a pair of Dynaudio Focus 160 (incredible speakers, btw!) powered by a Roksan K3 sourced via a Project Tube Box S from a Rega RP3 with an Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge. When I upgraded from my NAD T755 recevier to the Roksan K3 integrated amp I knew I will soon think about another amp upgrade - and the time has come.

Dynaudio - Focus 160 or Contour 1.4S LE? | What Hi-Fi? …

    https://forums.whathifi.com/threads/dynaudio-focus-160-or-contour-1-4s-le.104200/
     · Seriously considering swapping out my Kudos Super 20's for something with a bit more bottom end and am demoing the Contour 1.4S LE tomorrow. They get great reviews but my first time around with Dynaudios. The other option I have, but can't demo, is to take a second hand pair of Focus 160's but...

Upgrade from Dynaudio Focus 160s - Naim Audio Forum …

    https://forums.naimaudio.com/topic.php?oid=77033103065386772&coid=159503632588890
     · Upgrade from Dynaudio Focus 160s Posted by: NJB on 23 September 2018 . ... Music tracks, amplification, wiring, etc. all the same. I have owned Focus 160 and currently own Focus 260. Special 40 is *maybe* 5-10% better than Focus 160 to my ears but not an upgrade over Focus 260. I agree that S40 is more of a sideways move from F160, albeit a ...

Stands for Dynaudio Focus 160? | AVForums

    https://www.avforums.com/threads/stands-for-dynaudio-focus-160.1939008/
     · The stands arrived fully boxed in an unused condition with all accessories. Compared to the Dynaudio Stand 3 I was using, the Stand 6 are much better suited to my Focus 160s, and the increased stability has made an audible difference to the bass. Bargain - even though I paid £149 and they are now £125. 1.

Comparing Dynaudio speakers | Steve Hoffman Music …

    https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/comparing-dynaudio-speakers.1051163/
     · In the past I've owned Dynaudio Excite X32, X14 and Focus 160, and at my dealer's place I've listened to DM 2/7, DM3/7, X12, X16, X34, Contour 3.4 & some of their active speakers. I've also owned some BM5A MKII's btw. - active speakers for music production. IMO it's hard to find bad-sounding Dynaudio speakers. Just give them plenty of power. EDIT:

Dynaudio Focus 160 loudspeaker | Stereophile.com

    https://www.stereophile.com/content/dynaudio-focus-160-loudspeaker
2014-7-16 · Dynaudio recommends their own Stand4 for the Focus 160, but you might already have a pair of suitable stands. I used the now-discontinued Triangle Boomerangs, which place the speakers about 25" above the floor. The claimed frequency response is 40Hz–35kHz, ±3dB, and just like me and you, the Focus 160 is ported in the rear.

Dynaudio Focus 160 Review | HiFiReport.com

    https://www.hifireport.com/dynaudio-focus-160-review/
The Dynaudio Focus 160 uses a 6.5-inch bass driver, which is moderate in size, not too small and suitable for rooms below medium and small. And its low-frequency extension can reach 44Hz, which meets the needs of most users. Attention to Detail.

Dynaudio Focus 160 review | What Hi-Fi?

    https://www.whathifi.com/dynaudio/focus-160/review
2012-1-20 · Dynaudio’s Focus 160 speakers are just such a product. For speakers that stand just 35cm high, they deliver high volume and deep bass with impressive confidence. More than that, it’s the naturally fluid way they handle tracks such as Little Dragon’s rhythmically complex Precious that pleases.

[WTD] - Dynaudio Focus 160 (Maple) | pink fish media

    https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/dynaudio-focus-160-maple.262867/
     · Dynaudios do need high power amps and a high quality source to sound their best in my opinion. For solid state around 300W into 4 ohms is good, for tube amps lower power can work well (around 80W). Contours from the same era as the Focus have pretty much the same drivers but higher quality cabinet bracing and crossover components.
