The 1.1 is definitely the one to go for. The timbre is extremely natural, but still very pleasing and musical (in contrast to other "neutral" sounding speakers that sound simply cold and …

I used to own a pair of Contour 1, and listening to the 1.1 in a show room, though smaller in cabinet size, they perform very close to the 1s. They are extremely "true" speaker but in a sense not utterly analytical. Overall, sound of these little ones is like looking at a clear sky after the rain or a sharply focused zeiss lens.

Dynaudio Contour 1.1 speakers In summary I am so pleased with the current sound, I am in no hurry to upgrade the CD player as I think this will have the least audible impact compared with changes made to date. I was looking for a pair of small stound-mount speakers even though my system is in a large room.

Got the Contour 1.1s hooked up and the contrast was amazing! Forgot about trying other amps, CD players and speakers, just drifted away to the music. The demo used the MF X-Ray CD and XA-2 amp. I will probably purchase the 1.1 and partner it with an Italian hybrid amp (valve input - MOSFET output).

The Dynaudio 1.1 are about as good as small speakers can get. They sound surprisingly big, realistic, have great tone and represent excellent value for money. Along with the proac 1sc these are genuine hi end compact standmounts and are perfect for small rooms.

I have heard the 1.1 some time ago driven by a 13 Watt tube pre/-power combo and it did sound fantastic. So small and yet so much bass. Not to mention the build quality! I also briefly listened to the 1.3MkII but not in a 1:1 comparision to the 1.1, but as expected they do sound great, too.
