My suspicion is that the Dynaudio requires pre-amp voltages of 4v+ while my AVIC-X940BT only has 2V pre-amp outputs. When using the line level outputs from the AVIC, it can hit 4V very easily (thus only using 15/40 volume). My solution is to order a 4 channel line out converter and use the speaker level outputs from the AVIC.
