I am able to create MIDI files from drum audio using dynamic splitting, but this works best on a track-by-track basis, e.g. doing the kick, then the snare, etc. In Ableton apparently there's a built-in drums to MIDI plugin that will convert a whole drum loop to MIDI at once.
