    Go into DSP/Backend Settings. You can choose either DSound either XAudio. FYI, if you're on Mac OS X, there is no XAudio2. (Probably wouldn't help, anyway - CoreAudio is usually flawless as far as DSP HLE goes.) On Linux you have a bunch of audio backends to pick n' choose from - I dunno if XAudio2 is one of them.
