Yes, the Zune HD will support audiobooks. The only catch is that you cannot sync them to the device through the Zune software. You have to use either Audible or Overdrive audiobooks software to get them on the device.

Anyone still using their Zune for audiobooks? Man I love that I can get books from Overdrive and still glad to be using it for audiobooks on the Zune. I convert the 64kbps mp3s into 32kbps WMAs and find the quality is still fine for voice. Transfer with Overdrive WAX creator and voila, books are ready to go on the device.
