The internal amp, part of the "Premium Infinity" system, is rated for a minimum and maximum input sensitivity and when overdirven the result is not as designed. The Factory HU puts out xxx on the speaker wires, rf/lf/rr/lr, and when the volume level is adjusted upwards the level is raised on the speaker wires, which is fed into this external amp. which then further amplifies the signal.
