    1) 2ohm clipping power isn't four times 8 ohm clipping power. 2) clipping power is lower at 100Hz than at 1kHz. If the power supply were regulated the tail end of the THD plots would overlap exactly and power levels would scale exactly with load impedance. There's something like 10Vpp ripple on the supply at 1200W.

Yes there should be less bashing about prices and more praise on this forum. Before Hypex came around the choices for DIY amps were far inferior, bulky, expensive, and labor intensive to build. Since this is the DIYaudio forum, this is what people should be focusing on.

Omholt said: Looks good bavmike, but I find it difficult to believe there would be a clear audible difference from the buffer used in NC400 or NC1200. Make sure to level match and preferably also blindtest. Might give you a different result.

I've been looking to buy either an ICEpower 200ASC or a Hypex Ncore NC122MP but cannot find them anywhere. I've looked in the usual places (eBay, Amazon, Soundimports, Audiophonics, etc.) with no luck. I'm located in Spain so I'm looking to buy from the EU to keep shipping costs and import taxes to a minimum.

Hypex 400 DIY or buy? : diyaudio

There's a lot of ncore amps based on the NC252MP or even the NC122MP that are pretty impressive. I have a 122 and it is outstanding. Those modules have the power supplies built in, so if you get an amp based on one of those you are mostly paying for the case since there isn't much to the internal wiring.

In my system, the first class D amplifier I heard which could play on a level playing field with very good class A and A/B amplifiers was the Ncore, in fact, after comparing Ncore with my Pass Labs X.5 series amplifier the Ncore amp had the better sound overall, the Ncore amp also bested the highly regarded PS Audio BHK here.
