    https://www.diyaudio.com/archive/blogs/alexcp/1429-aikido-headphone-amplifier.html
I built a headphone amplifier using John Broskie's Aikido All-in-One PCB with Tube Rectifier. The PCB is well made and easy to build, and I am satisfied with how it sounds. One comment is that R9, R10, and R13 (see the attached …

Aikido and output transformer | diyAudio

Why wouldn't you just build the low-Z version of the Aikido amp, it's roughly the same parts and cost? This transformer doesn't look so good, if you use the 8 ohm taps with 32 ohm cans, then the tubes are driving against 2400 ohms, whereas Broskie has biased them to drive 600 ohm cans.

Belonging to my school of Audio Aikido, this amplifier sidesteps power supply noise by incorporating the noise into its normal operation. As a result, in terms of distortion and output impedance and PSRR, the following circuit works at least a magnitude better than the equivalent SRPP or grounded-cathode amplifier.

One shoot of the Aikido with 5U4C rectifier. Good performance rectifier with its price range. A final shoot of my Aikido Preamp. I replace the 5U4C tube with 5U3C/5U4GB Sylvania Black Plate rectifier. It sounds even better in resolution and clarity. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with this as my holiday project.
