Can you try launching Spotify with --disable-audio-output-resampler ? Close Spotify. Execute the following command ( either in CMD or run ) : C:\Users\YourUSER\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Spotify.exe --disable-audio-output-resampler . Make sure to change "YourUSER " accordingly! I tried many things including chrome.exe --disable-audio-output-resampler switch for Chrome but nothing helped. Chrome's output is surround unlike my MP3 player. So the Creative sound driver can't fill it up to surround because it's already surround. YouTube videos don't have surround channels. They only have stereo channel.
