I have media share showing up in the menu. and I can open up files on my computer. But I get no sound when I try to play video or music files. Any adivice? Note: Directv DVR ian HR34 connected to an AV reciever via HDMI. All is good when watching programming from Directv, but no sould when using media shere.

You might look into other threads here that talk about TVersity as it will transcode your videos into a format that mediashare can understand. A common reason for the lack of audio is when the file has DD5.1 audio and is in program stream format. If you use transport stream OR stereo audio, it may work for you.
