It happens with all the 7.1 setups. My best try was to take the audio.scr from Dead Island Riptide. But you can never fix it completely so sometimes you have the crackling sound or ultra loud sound on the right speaker. Just restart the game till you have no crackling sound then your good to go. It is a bit annoying but it helps.
