    Plus I figured out the problem and it wasnt the audio interface. It was Cubase itself. When you install Cubase 5 on a 64 bit operating system, you get the choice of either installing a 32 or 64 bit version of the program. I had been installing the 64 bit version all this while, and decided to go for the 32 bit version instead. and it works now.:-)
