TBH, I think the Rat might honestly sound better through the AC circuit than the Hotcake. Maybe not as "transparent" or married to the amp sound, but the gentle bass rolloff beginning around 1.5kHz is just SO useful for cutting through muddiness in gain saturation/amp cabinet resonance, I just can't say enough good things about it.
