After reading the threads and doing some research, it seems as if you can find workaround solutions by trying different 'generic' drivers-meaning that if the system has a realtek system, use the updated realtek driver for the correct os, or in this case, I used the generic conexant ac97 audio driver for windows 7 64 bit os, and it works.
