Sound problems!!! I have been having audio problems between my Xfinity X1 DVR box and my TV. The TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-55EX640 with 4 HDMI inputs. The DVR is hooked up to HDMI input 1 using an HDMI cable that I already owned. It wasn't a cheap one and might be slightly longer than the standard cables given out with the DVRs.

What is HDMI Audio Output "Expert Mode" exactly? | Xfinity ...

I had already found that post in a search. Expert Mode doesn’t appear to enable Atmos. My AVR supports Atmos and using bitstream via eARC, I can decode Atmos from the Netflix app on my TV. On the Netflix app on the X1 DVR, just DD 5.1. I was hoping for more detailed technical info, not a high level forum post.

Nov 12, 2010. #2. L-PCM tends to be the preferred setting, as HDMI-connected tv's can freak out using Comcast's AC3 signal. There has to be a key on the remote to switch the soundbar to optical. Also, and this is more comon than you think, make sure the dust cap plugs have been pulled off both ends of your optical cable.
