    The Concept can have its speed adjusted, you just need a small flat-head screwdriver. There is 3 screws at the back of the table for 33/45/78 and just turn them left or right to optimise the speeds. As for getting the platter up to speed slowly, did you just put in too much oil? you only need a small drop or 2 (at most).
