The CDP1 is supposed to be a CD303-300 without the tube output stage. Simply a SS output stage. The SS output of the Cary is good, but I purchased the 303 for the tube output and I listen to the tube output 90% of the time. I think that there are other less expensive solid state cdp choices that are probably equal to the Cary.
