It is, by far, the quietest tube amp I’ve owned. With an ear within an inch of the Voxativ drivers, the most minute tube noise can be heard, but more than an inch away and you hear nothing. The same is true when placing your ear right above the amp. This thing is amazingly quiet. I am so happy with my Cary Audio CAD-300SEI.

I've heard very good things about Cary Audio's tube amps, and their solid-state offerings are supposed to carry the same sound but with more power. I'm stuck between the Cary and a Conrad-Johnson MF2200. Both are 200 watts, both have a warm sound that should go well with my Vandersteen 5a speakers.
