That's an increase of (66.02/36)-1 = .83 or 83%. Because power increases with the square of the voltage a small increase in supply voltage will give a large increase in power output. So if our amplifier's output at 12 volts was 100 watts then at 14.4 volts it would be 144 watts and at 16.25 volts it would be 183 watts.

What voltage does a car audio amplifier output at its ...

The power supply usually starts with AC current, or a DC car audio amplifier will have a switching power supply that converts 12 volts DC to high frequency AC pulses, steps that up in voltage, and converts it back to DC to use in the gain stages in …

The output voltage levels from the preamp outputs and speaker outputs MAY be approximately the same but the speaker drive voltage is usually higher. When the volume is low, the voltage out is low. To increase the volume, you must increase the output voltage (the amplitude of the waveform). You are controlling the output voltage level when you set the volume level.

A preamp output is an additional channel on your car stereo that you can use to connect an amplifier, equalizer, or sound processor. Although you should use a direct one-to-one connection between the output and input in the amplifier, you can use a “Y” cable to split the signal. This way, you can connect more speakers or subwoofers, but the ...

Pre-out voltages isnt the main focus in all honesty. a 16 bit dac head unit with a 4 volt pre-out and sh*tty audio features vs a 24 bit dac with 2 volt pre-out and a lot of audio features, i'd choose the latter in an instant and label the 16 bit dac 4v head unit as trash.

sergemcgraw83. Ok. I have a JL microsub+ (amplified enclosure) and I setted my LC2i until the maximized light came on, then backed up a bit. Let the microsub+ level at minimum and thought i was golden. But then i checked the microsub specs and it says 1.40V RMS rca input. And i checked my voltage at the lc2i and im at 4.35V on a 40hz test tone.

In the diagram below the red sine wave shows how far the audio output voltage can swing in a head unit. It can only swing a total of about 12 volts. The actual voltage is determined by the vehicle's charging system. This means it can swing only 6 volts above or below the reference (indicated by the 'C' arrows).
