The D300 is one of the best CD players for the money, it has fantastic soundstaging, the bass is controlled and deep, and it works fantastically well with all types of music. Paired with my Arcam Alpha 10 integrated and Monitor Audio Gold Ref 20's, this player impressed me, and did not feel like a weak connection in the system given its price.

I bought this Cambridge Audio D300 CD player on a managers special for £90 from Richer, to go with a NAD 3020A amp and Tannoy M20 speakers which I had come by recently. Really, with hi-fi, sound quality is paramount, and the D300 passes with flying colours.

Cambridge Audio D300 CD I feel my CD is my current weak link. Sound is OK but I feel it lacks A LITTLE in detail. I am considering these Rotel RCD 991 (new) $700 USD Arcam A7SE used ($3-$350) Arcam CD 92 used ($900) Ah (???) Jolida 100 ($100) My main type of listening is rock pop. Any recomendations.

4,427 Likes 37 I'm looking at a new CD player. The Cambridge Audio 300 series looks pretty good. The Se has a 24 bit DAC versus the 20 in the D300. Much of a difference? I also looked athe NAD 541, 521. Any thoughts on these? Bob As long as it sounds good. That's what matters! Nov 14, 2001 at 12:58 AM Post #2 of 3 RickG Electrostatic Elvis Joined

Considering that the D500SE can be had for less than $100 more than a D300SE and is Cambridge Audio's most renowned product, I would definitely select it. And the metal silver faceplate option, which at the same price uses a superior though very bright display, is alone worth the price difference. The D500SE is also a Stereophile Class 'C ...

Cambridge Audio A300 Integrated Amplifiers user reviews ...

The cambridge has a nice smooth, warm, laid back sound, the typical 'British' sound. Best mated with bright/neutral sounding speakers. The highs are a little too laid back and the midrange may be a bit too warm for some. The amp also has a slight mid bass bump (right at 60 hz, could be due to dirty power). Soundstage and imaging are fine.
