Review: Cambridge Audio CXC CD Transport: The Sound and ...

The Cambridge Audio CXC is a CD transport. Its sole purpose is to spin up CDs to the correct and stable speed so that a laser can read the pits and lands that are encoded into the polycarbonate layer of the disc. Then, by way of the CXC’s digital outputs (Coax or Toslink), that data is sent to a digital to analog converter to turn bits into ...

Cambridge A3i Amp (since changed to NAD 340, I actually think the NAD makes a better pairing with the CD player than the Cambridge amp!) I later added a Cambridge DACMAGIC 2 (note: not 2i), which made little to no difference, so I wouldn't recommend trying to …

The cost of the MSB with the power supply was $1,500. In my opinion, too much money for "a little". My conclusion is that CD6 is a very good CD that can compete with CDs of the line of MF X Ray, Marant CD 17, Rotel , etc. My congratulations to CAMBRIDGE AUDIO, since I have been enjoing a very good sound with a very serious CD player.

The Cambridge Audio CXC v2 CD transport (no DAC) is a detailed and clean sounding unit and a real bargain for the money! When paired with the Cambridge Audio CXA81 (ESS Sabre DAC) Integrated Amplifier these two really are unbelievably good for the price. Totally silent between tracks. Great remote control (minus a volume control).

Cambridge Audio CD4SE CD Players. I bought a CD4 Special Edition second hand, in perfect condition for just £8.50. I'd read various reviews that were full of praise so I thought I'd give it a go and at that price it was too good to miss. I've compared it to all of my other vintage CD players: NAD C524, Rotel RCD855, Rega Planet Mk1, and a Naim ...

the 840 C with it's built in DAC makes this CD player a no brainer, and an excellent candidate if you wish to pursue a fully balanced system in the future. The incognito option if you choose to add more Cambridge Audio equipment to your system, will allow you to play the CD source in more than 1 room in the house.

Cambridge Audio Azur 851C CD Player/DAC. Cambridge Audio’s Azur 840C CD player made quite a splash back in 2007. In my review of that device (Issue 174, September, 2007) I was shocked not only by the advanced technologies and build-quality of this $1499 player, but more importantly by how good it sounded. The 840C, I concluded, was one of the ...
