I've burned DVDAs from 24/96 flac files with no problems. The problem might be with the player. It's a Sony. Since they have been acting like they are in competition with standard DVDA format (with their SACD and now a non standard file format with DRM built in on some blue ray discs) they actually disable their DVD players from playing the ...

How to burn 24/96 5.1 channel DVD audio? - HydrogenAud

The end goal is to be able to burn a 24/96 5.1 DVD audio disc with Disc Welder Chrome. However, Disc Welder Chrome will down sample the 24/96 file to 24/48 when burning a 5.1 mix. My plan is to split an existing 24/96 5.1 WAV into separate tracks, then encode with SurCode MLP so they'll burn properly with Disc Welder Chrome.

For files 24-96; 24-48; 16-96; 16-48; is best to create a DVD-V. This is multiplex audio tracks in VOB files in a VIDEO_TS folder. It is a procedure lossless (you are creating a DVD-V with only audio). The disc can be played on any DVD player. I recommend Lplex. Just drag the folder to the shortcut and automatically create an ISO (DVD-V) image to burn to DVD-R.
