For AUDIO CD's (not MP3) my burn speed is "8X". 8X burned discs will play in most all audio CD players without skipping. Above 12X it can be iffy with older audio CD players. Most SATA CD/DVD burners have their lowest burn speed at 16X and this can be a problem with some audio CD players - they will either skip or not play them at all.

I am having a problem while burning CD-Rs. I've tried to burn them in various ways to stop them from skipping but nothing worked. To burn CDs and DVDs I prefer CDBurnerXP now since summer 2007. My problem: When I burn Audio-CDs, the burning-process works fine, but when I check the burned CDs, they ALL(!) have skips (missing several seconds of music) on the first track at exactly time point "0:26" to "0:27" and also later on at some more points in later tracks !
