Bryston vs Simaudio - Audiogon Discussion Forum

The I-5 is still a great little integrated, and for a used price of $1400 or so it is tough to beat. It should be noted I use (d) Totem Model-1 Sigs with both the I-5 and 100B-SST. Totem speakers generally perform poorly when underpowered; and they seem to be power hungry. My local dealer carries both SimAudio and Bryston.

The Bryston is more of a brute while the Simaudio may be considered more refined. Given the price difference (and if primary use is HT), I …

From bryston to simaudio Is going from Bryston 4B Cube to Simaudio Moon 760a considered as an upgrade or a lateral move, providing that both amps can sufficiently drive speakers that I have. I thought matching Moon 390 with 760a would yield a greater synergy than the Bryston amp. panerai557 01-29-2020 9:55am 6 responses Add your response

I actually switched to Simaudio after hearing it at the Montreal show. I had a Bryston amp and pre amp at the time. I switched to a Simaudio amp and pre. There was big difference to me. The Simaudio gear was better in details, low level information and especially soundstage. I haven't looked back since the change.

Bryston or Moon Simaudio amps for 803d or 802d?

Unfortunately there are no dealers in Ontario that carry both Moon Simaudio and B&W, but there are several that carry both Bryston and B&W. As a result I would have to go all Bryston or all Moon Simaudio. Moon Simaudio is probably a cut above Bryston, and more expensive, but would it be a better way to go with the 803d or 802d speakers?

Just purchased a used Bryston BDA-3 which should arrive this week. No Moon components here, but will be comparing it to the following DACs: — Crane Song Solaris Quantum DAC — MyTek Manhattan II (preamp/DAC/streamer) ... At Simaudio, we refer to our "streamers" as Network Players. This is a far more accurate description as we have designed ...

Bryston and Magnepan is a natural pairing. I would welcome Bryston amps with a tube preamp and Magnepan speakers. My 28BSST2 amps were awesome and I really only sold them to get the new 28 Cubed amps but my Ayre amps sort of slipped in their spot. Bryston offers the best warranty, not that you'll need it.

Naim sound vs Bryston sound? - AVForums

The NAP 300 is a better comparison and is really the take over from the 135's at £6k a pair. Looking way back in a 20 year old What Hifi. The Bryston 4B was then £1750, the 7B's were £1,595 each and the 135's were £1398 each. The 4B SST is today is circa £4k so £6k for a pair of 135's new in todays money is probably about right.

During the downtime I did purchase the SimAudio 260 and have been enjoying it very much. Well built and sounds fantastic, IMHO. Also of note, the Bryston player does hot have digital inputs so you cannot use it as a standalone DAC. At 3500us$, along with questionable reliability this was a deal breaker for me.
