The simplest way to get Bioshock working is as follows. - First Method Update your Audio Drivers before you do this! Right Click on the Volume icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and select 'Playback devices' and them select the 'Recording' tab. Right click and show select 'Show Disabled Devices' and if 'Stereo Mix' comes up simply right click and Enable it.

Okay, BioShock has had some conflicts with the latest drivers released. I've found that the last set that actually performed smoothly with BioShock were the 178.24 set. Anything since then, anything in the 18x.xx sets have caused serious stuttering in the game. Even the latest beta, the 185.81 set does it.

Joined. Nov 27, 2007. Messages. 16,180. the only well known documented stuttering for Bioshock was a driver problem. there were a couple of sets of drivers back then where you had to change the pre rendered frames to zero and that fixed it. and newer drivers permanently fixed it.
