Thankfully it’s an easy fix. All you have to do is take the unit apart cut a single trace on the circuit board to solve the problem. It took me under 10 minuets to do and the switcher works flawlessly now. I’ve included an image of the trace that needs cutting as well as how the switch boxes fit in my gaming setup.

It uses the 'last device switched on' method, whereby if one device is already on & you switch on another, the 2nd device is routed to the TV.
