It looks like I can use a CS4344 audio DAC in external clock mode. The uP will be clocked by an external 18.432M oscillator, and a timer will be used to create the LRCLK signal needed by the DAC. The timer interrupt will trigger the …

In the latter case, I’d recommend using a relatively inexpensive MQA-compatible standalone DAC like the Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M ($499) to handle digital-to-analog conversion. Connect the computer to the DAC via a USB type-A-to-USB type-B cable, and the DAC to the Marantz AVR using via its unbalanced stereo RCA outputs.

Do AV Receivers Have DAC? - Home Theater Academy

I'm going to put the system together slowly (as budget allows) and I intend to spend $1500 - $2000 on an AVR and floor standing speakers. I'll get the universal player, center and surrounds later. I read a glowing review of the Musical Fidelity M1 Dac and it got me thinking about DAC's and what place they would have in my system.

External DAC or AVR DAC processing? | AVS Forum

I want to improve my audio format listening for 2.1 than my current streaming. Have been reading and trying to learn more about it. I also just subscribed with Tidal to check out their hi-fi streaming quality. Would I hear a noticeable improvement using an external DAC in place of the internal DAC processing in my Denon AVR-X4500H?
