The 2.6.4 audio problem for me was AviDemux settings, nothing to do with audio in the file. Every time I opened a file, no audio. I finally looked in Edit, Preferences, Audio, and AudioDevice was DUMMY, which I changed to Win32. This kept recurring file after file that I opened, until finally the setting stuck, and I now get audio.
